Taking risks is about being comfortable with failure. When we are young we are reckless. We have no fear.
When we’re young taking risks comes naturally to us. We jump out of the tree. We jump into the pool whether we can swim or not.
Living at risk is jumping off the cliff and building your wings on the way down. – Ray Bradbury
Then we become aware of ourselves. We grow up. We use reason not intuition. We are adults. Suddenly taking risks is something that needs considering.
Start Taking Risks
When we consider risks we think about the things we may lose. We play safe. And rarely play to win. Recklessness and risk are incompatible.
To dare is to lose one’s footing momentarily. To not dare is to lose oneself. – Søren Kierkegaard
Think about outcomes not consequences. Start taking risks. Do what you cannot do. Start taking risks. Explore ideas. Start taking risks. Lead with courage. Speak up. Start taking risks.Once you decide stop debating and get on with it. Play to win!
What we risk propels us forward. And when we to go into the unknown we accept failure is a possibility.
